Among other things, I have been a teacher, a chef, a business owner, a photographer, an artist, a writer, a mother and wanderer. My current primary occupation is foraging, for rocks and sea glass, birds and their songs, caterpillars, mushrooms, mica, the right light for the pictures, and the right words for the poems. I hold a BA in English from the University of Washington, and an MFA in poetry from New England College. My poems, essays and photos have been published in Rattle, burntdistrict, Calyx, The Baltimore Review, Smartish Pace, The Alexandria Quarterly, The New York Times, Fifth Wednesday, Ping Pong, Talisman and other journals. I volunteer for Monarch Watch and Rockingham County VNA and Hospice, and live on the rocky coast of Maine.
